The Chef Kawasaki & Hop Star amiibo launches this September, with pre-orders now live
Following the Meta Knight & Shadow Star Amiibo, releasing in March 2026, Nintendo has confirmed two more sets arriving later that year – King Dedede & Tank Star and Chef Kawasaki & Hop Star.
Unveiled during the latest Kirby Air Riders Direct, these Amiibo figures are larger than standard releases and feature magnetically connected riders and machines, allowing players to swap characters and vehicles with combinations reflected in-game.
Like Meta Knight’s set, both new Amiibo can be trained and levelled up, expanding customisation options in Kirby Air Riders, which launches on Nintendo Switch 2 this November.
Release Date: July 2, 2026 (King Dedede & Tank Star), September 3, 2026 (Tank Star and Chef Kawasaki)

I already deemed Kirby on the warp star too steep at 34 quid so no way would I be collecting them all. I actually decided the only one I would get would be this King Dedede on the tank star from the moment it was revealed because it’s so cool but what an outrageous price! 🫤 Where I’ve collected nearly all of them over the Wii U and Switch generations I have definitely not continued that pattern on these new Switch 2 era releases though.
