Collector’s insights

This limited 30th anniversary bundle offers fantastic value for fans seeking a complete modern Resident Evil trilogy in one collectible package, complete with all major DLCs.

Unfortunately, the games come on game-key cards rather than full physical cartridges, which may disappoint collectors who prefer traditional, no-download physical media.

Along with Resident Evil Requiem it will include Resident Evil 7 biohazard Gold Edition including the full game, the “Not a Hero” chapter, and all additional DLC, as well as Resident Evil Village Gold Edition, featuring the Winters’ Expansion and the Trauma Pack.

I hope you only play every game on the disc as many are required downloads too

“Oh no my poor fragile little ego. Let me complain about game key cards, but fail to mention that PS/Xbox discs are exactly what game key cards are but that’s okay because it’s not Nintendo.”
How can you fumble a comment so hard? 🤔

The vast majority of physical releases on console still have full 1.0 builds printed on the disc

Maybe, but that means nothing when the vast majority of games require a multi gigabyte day one patch on initial installation and subsequently multiple extra patches to fix performance and bugs. What’s left on the disc is a pale reflection of what you ultimately play. The most extreme examples would be trying to play either CP2077 or NMS off their discs without any patches

I agree with you. I collect physical media and hate it when it’s a download code and not a disc. All of PlayStation collector’s editions since Horizon Forbidden West have been steel books with a code. They didn’t even bother with a steel book for Death Stranding 2 and Ghost of Yotei. With the addition of a steel book, I just buy the Ultimate physical edition with all of the bugs ironed out and dlcs a couple of years down the road when their $15.
